In 1992, taking advantage of Comrade Deng Xiaoping’s “Southern Tour Speech” to further reform and opening up, Hu Kefei and his wife, the founders of Hangyi Electric Appliances, gave up their public positions as provincial unit and school teachers and went overseas to start their own businesses. They have gone through various stages in the remote control industry, from 0 to 1 to N, including agency sales, technical services, OEM, ODM, self created brands, land purchase and factory building, and expansion of sales channels. They have gradually grown into the largest remote control research and manufacturing enterprise in Zhejiang Province through a one-stop industrial chain that includes industrial design, mold design and manufacturing, injection molding, SMT, complete machine assembly, and testing.
In 2002, a land area of 10 acres was established in Yuhang Industrial Zone, a western suburb of Hangzhou, with a new industrial factory building of over 4000 square meters. Equipped with an annual production capacity of 8 million remote control manufacturing capabilities. We have successively produced foreign trade supporting remote controllers for well-known manufacturers such as Japan and South Korea.
In 2008, 50 acres of land were purchased in the Keqiao Economic Development Zone of Shaoxing. Accumulated investment of 200 million yuan, building over 50000 square meters of factory buildings to form a comprehensive industrial chain network that integrates technology research and development, industrial design, mold manufacturing, injection molding, spray printing, electronic assembly, and product sales. After more than 20 years of talent and technological accumulation, the company has advanced manufacturing processes and one-stop services.
The drone research and development project was launched in 2015. After the unremitting efforts of our colleagues, the Geek Bridge “Little White” aerial photo drone was launched in January 2017. Starting from the same month, the company decided to take the “police drone” application industry as a breakthrough point and carry out in-depth research on drone applications. It has successively established projects such as tethered lighting drones, emergency command and shouting drones, rescue and throwing drones, and has successfully developed them.
In March 2018, the first generation of lighting drones was officially released in Beijing and received high praise from experts. It was hailed as a disruptive innovation in the field of emergency lighting. In May of the same year, Zhejiang Geek Bridge Intelligent Equipment Co., Ltd. was officially established. In June 2019, the second generation portable lighting drone was released at the 16th Guangzhou China International Fair and was selected as one of the top 6 “specialized, refined, and innovative” products of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China. During the 2020 Spring Festival, Geek Bridge lighting drones lit up the construction sites of Wuhan Huoshen Mountain and Leishen Mountain Hospitals, winning high praise from the Chinese people. In 2021, the Geek Bridge lighting drone lit up the isolation point in Shijiazhuang and was praised by CCTV as the “brightest star in the night sky”.
Starting from 2020, Geek Bridge gradually expanded the application of tethered drone systems to fields such as broadcasting and command, communication relay, high-definition video, and crop protection. In 2021, the Geek Bridge lighting and video integrated drone was launched. In 2022, the new generation of grid based intelligent aircraft nest and autonomous flight operation drone system pioneered by Geek Bridge will shine on the stage, which is expected to solve the industry pain points of drones such as high dependence on manual labor, insufficient response, high operating costs, limited operation scope and time, and provide services for urban and rural management, road traffic control, power inspection, environmental protection inspection, and agricultural and forestry inspection and protection Rivers and Lakes patrol provides a new generation of UAV based digital management system solutions.
